Give your dish a sound. TasteTune transforms flavors into music.

Why I Chose to Tell the Stories of Food Through Sound

Ever since I was young, eating a meal never ended with just “it’s delicious.”
Whether it was a warm bowl of soup or a single dish served at home,
there were moments when tears would suddenly fall—without me even knowing why.

“Why am I crying?”
Even when I asked myself that question, I couldn’t find an answer.
But now, I believe it was because I was touching something beyond the food itself—
the feelings of the person who made it just for me.

Someone took their time, moved their hands,
and poured their heart into preparing a meal for another person.
It felt as though all of that warmth and love was packed into a single bite,
tightening my chest with emotion.
To me, food was never just something to eat.
It was an act of receiving someone’s kindness.

On the other hand, music has always carried me to many different places.
It helped me relax, feel lonely, feel joyful,
and sometimes even saved me.
Music gently touches the deepest parts of the heart— like a quiet hand brushing over hidden emotions.

And then, one day, a thought came to me.

What if these two were combined?
Couldn’t that create something deeper, something more beautiful?

That was the very beginning of TasteTune.

Around the world, there are dishes that can only be eaten for a fleeting moment.

  • Traditional foods found only in a specific region.
  • Special flavors enjoyed only during certain events.
  • Unique tastes born from differences in religion and culture.
  • Seasonings, memories, and colors that vary from household to household.

Countless stories spread across dining tables all over the world.

And those stories don’t just increase by the number of countries or religions—
they continue to grow by the number of families, by the number of lives lived.

Yet, to truly understand the taste of a faraway land,
photos and words alone are never enough.

“What does it taste like?”
“What does it smell like? How warm is it? What memories does it hold?”

That atmosphere is incredibly hard to convey.

So I thought—
maybe sound could deliver a part of it.

Music has the power to gently bring us closer
to cultures and people we’ve never known,
without fear.

Even without tasting the real dish,
you can feel the land through sound.
You can become curious through sound.
You can glimpse the story hidden behind that dish through sound.

If even those who cannot eat the real food
can receive something through music…
If that sound makes someone think,
“Someday, I’d like to try it,”
then I believe that is something truly wonderful.

And that is how TasteTune was born—
a service that delivers food as stories told through sound.

Of course, nothing can surpass the real dish itself.
Still,
if it can spark curiosity,
if it can become a spice that makes the experience richer,
if it can etch the memory of that plate just a little deeper—

Then today as well, through TasteTune, I continue to turn cuisines from around the world into sound and share them with you.
